LACC Gave Us the Last Big Geek Gathering of 2023

Los Angeles is the obvious home base for the last big comic-con of the year in SoCal.

Temperatures get a bit cooler even in the City of Angels, but inside the LA Convention Center, things are just heating up for those on a mission to find the perfect geeky gifts just before the holidays, even if it’s for themselves.

LA Comic-Con doesn’t disappoint on any level, especially since it’s my local con and I get to see a lot of familiar faces between the rows of long boxes, LEGO builds, movie props, and vintage toys that I wish I could take home with me.

Between the panels on the main stage and scattered throughout the upper levels of concourse and the halls packed with comic artists, collectibles, anime, and gaming, you’ll always find hordes of cosplayers showing off their latest looks.

It’s a great way to finish off the year: I got to see Dwight (Rainn Wilson) and Toby (Paul Lieberstein) from the Office (US) reunite on stage to share stories from their time on the series; I finally found some comics for my collection that actually feature my name in them (from the 90s!); And won a Bad Batch shirt from playing a way too easy Star Wars trivia game. Next year, I’m going to have to ask them to ask harder questions or I don’t want the free prizes. It’s a matter of principle.
