Once Upon a Time Gets Frozen in Season 4

If you caught the season finale to Once Upon A Time on ABC last night, you’re either excitedly ready to build another snowman or you were muttering, “just LET IT GO already…”

That’s right, in the final few moments of the episode, a bluish liquid congealed into an icy looking young woman, who is none other than Elsa from Disney’s mega-blockbuster animated 2013 film, Frozen. And just in case anyone wasn’t sure that it was actually her, ABC tweeted a teaser image.

If you were ABC and you wanted a way to solidify your ratings for next season by having every little girl (okay, and teen to adult women… and possibly men) take control of TVs around the world on Sunday nights, this is the way to do it.

Showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz even confirmed that Elsa wouldn’t be the only character from Frozen to make an appearance next season. If they’re smart, they’ll get Josh Gad to play the human incarnation of Olaf. As for who would play Elsa and Anna, those prime parts are not yet cast. Just don’t expect a lot of showstopping musical numbers, unless Elsa gets pulled into a karaoke bar. But I’m sure a scene where someone is bothering her incessantly has already been scripted, concluding with her uttering (not singing) “let it go”.

You can be sure that if this experiment works, we might see more than a few Disney princesses from recent films make their way to Once Upon a Time. Brave or Tangled, anyone?
