We’re Hooked on the New Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer

And we’re high on believing that we’re in love with what could be the most fun movie of the summer. If Marvel keeps releasing such cool trailers (and unnecessary daily teases for said trailers), they’re going to build up really high expectations for a movie full of a group of characters mostly no one has ever heard of before. But that’s alright.

This time around we get brief clips of both Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) speaking and they don’t seem ridiculous at all, which was the main fear many have had about making a space raccoon and alien tree major characters in a Marvel sci-fi action epic that sits in the same universe as more Earthbound heroes like Captain America and Iron Man.

Along the way, we get our first real peeks at Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael, Benicio Del Toro as the Collector (last seen in the post-credits sequence of Thor: The Dark World), Karen Gillan as Nebula, and a primary cast that could very well someday rival the Avengers in popularity.

This Guardians of the Galaxy trailer is available currently only on Facebook, but I’m sure that will change soon enough. Already, Disney is taking down all of the bootleg postings that have shown up on YouTube.

Do yourself a favor: Click PLAY, then the little HD letters at the bottom of the video, and then the WIDESCREEN icon next to it, and crank the sound to watch this trailer in all its glory, this time with “Spirit in the Sky” by Norman Greenbaum playing on Peter Quill’s “Awesome Mix Vol. 1” tape.

Guardians of the Galaxy invades our theaters August 1st. (You’re welcome.)
