Hasbro Pulse and Robosen are giving us a real life transforming Grimlock Transformer! – SDCC 2023
This prehistoric robot dinosaur is made of anything but ancient technology.
Hasbro Pulse is once again working with robotic manufacturer Robosen, who brought us a fully interactive, transforming (‘natch) Optimus Prime, leader of the earlier this year, to release a Transformers Grimlock Auto-Converting Robot. Yes, with just a word or a tap on a connected app, you can make Grimlock transform from a T-Rex to a robot in seconds flat. It’s truly something to see and would have freaked me out in a good way to see this happen in front of me when I was 10.
Engineered by Robosen, he’s got 34 small yet powerful servo motors that initiate the transformation on command. He can even dance, speak, and keep himself balanced and upright even while you’re knocked on your butt in amazement from watching him do his thing.

However, he’s not available in stores. You can only get him through the Hasbro Pulse online subscription service. For the ultimate Transformers fan in your life, even if that’s you, it sounds like a worthwhile investment.
Speaking of investment, expect him to start shipping later this year once you plunk down about $1500 for this robot that you will likely treat like one of your own children. At least he won’t need diapers.
